Government
The Liberty Township Board of Trustees seeks to pass a resolution declaring the property at 8939 Riverside Drive a public nuisance due to overgrowth, debris, and inoperable vehicles. The resolution states that the owner, Vaz Properties LLC, has 7 days to address the issues, or the township will step in to abate the nuisance and recover costs.
The Liberty Township Board of Trustees will be discussing Havener Park improvements and grant funding tonight.
The City of Powell's Monthly Reports webpage has not been updated with publicly posted reports for the Police, Building, Finance, Executive, Development, Parks & Recreation, and Public Service departments for the past seven months.
People Helping People
Delaware County community partners and schools have joined together to provide a complete Thanksgiving meal to Delaware County residents in need. The Thanksgiving Meal Kit Giveaway takes place on November 26, 2024 at the Delaware County Fairgrounds from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, or until meals run out. Each meal kit feeds up to six adults. Limit of one meal kit per household.

Pink Friday, a national event dedicated to celebrating and supporting small businesses (not the Nicki Minaj album), will take place on Friday, November 22. Established in 2020, Pink Friday is held annually on the Friday before Black Friday, encouraging shoppers to prioritize small businesses during the holiday season. District Updates
Olentangy Orange High School Principal Monica Asher has been placed on paid administrative leave as the district investigates a newsletter she sent to staff containing messaging related to the 2024 election. Asher has served as principal since 2022.
The annual Quality Profile is being distributed to all district residents. This report highlights the educational value of Olentangy Schools, providing insights into students' learning experiences and the district's overall contributions to the community. Sports Corner
Andrew Leonard's 13-yard touchdown pass to Geno Saccoccia in the final minute of the OHSAA Division I, Region 3 semifinal secured a 17-13 victory for the Liberty Patriots over Upper Arlington. Liberty advances to face Pickerington North in the Region 3 final on Friday, November 22, at 7:00 PM at Historic Crew Stadium.
Off The Field
Throughout November, the Wyandot Run Elementary School PTO is collecting Letters of Gratitude. Students are encouraged to write letters to staff members who have positively impacted their educational journey. Letters can be brought to the school office, where blank copies of the Letters of Gratitude form are also available. The PTO will collect letters until Friday, November 22, and distribute them to staff on Monday, November 25.
